At Trinity Presbyterian Church we strive to work with missionaries and other groups to provide information about how God is working through us in the world. Trinity hosted a luncheon August 2017 featuring Elmarie & Scott Parker, PCUSA missionaries who serve as regional liaison for Syria, Lebanon and Iraq (Elmarie) and as Associate for Ecumenical Partnerships (Scott). A more detailed account of their work may be found HERE and a Video Playlist HERE. Click HERE for their October 2018 update entitled “Phases of Development”.
Elmarie invites interested parties to join her in a series of trip highlighted in the letter below:
The Syria-Lebanon Partnership Network will be planning a Solidarity & Accompaniment Trip to Lebanon and Syria in 2018. I’ll get those dates and details to you as soon as the Network has it available. I work with the Network to arrange these types of trips and accompany the group on the ground. In addition, I’ll be taking a group of specialists in working with children who have a range of Autism and Downs Syndrome to Iraq in early to mid-June 2018. If you know of anyone who would be interested in this, please let me know. The focus will be on assessment, share a few basic tools, and collaborating with our Iraqi partners on making use of web-based seminars for additional training.
AND, the Iraqi Churches have invited interested PCUSA Congregations and/or individuals to commit to praying for a particular Iraqi City for the next year. They will send further details about the assigned city you receive. This is being coordinated through the Iraq Partnership Network (IPN). Please let me know if anyone from Trinity (or Trinity as a congregation) would like to participate in this, and I can put you in touch with Rev. Joanne Sizoo, the moderator for the IPN.
