Devotional Help for these Difficult Days

I would like to introduce you to one of my favorite little devotional books titled, “Looking Up While Lying Down” by John E. Biegert. Originally published by Pilgrim Press, I discovered this little gem 38 years ago right after I was ordained. I was looking for a devotional that I could leave at the hospital when I visited. Over the years I have come to appreciate its usefulness, not just in sickness, but in all difficult times. It is only 24 pages long, but I have gone to it when I needed some inspiration or some scriptural and devotional guidance.

Incredibly, the devotional is still being sold. The price has gone up some (I think it was 50 cents when I bought it in 1982) but I have found a good price at the Christian Books website ($3.99). At the moment it feels like we are all “lying down” – perhaps not physically, but certainly emotionally and spiritually. While I cannot promise that this devotional as the antidote, it certainly is good medicine for believers. I invite you to purchase it and keep it by your side. It is probably the best medicine we can buy right now for that price. God bless and keep you.
